Why HMMM Resin, MF Resin and UF resin in paint?

 HMMM Resin:

Hexamethoxymethyl Melamine (HMMM) HMMM is a Hexa (methoxymethyl) melamine resin. It is used as a crosslinking agent with resorcinol or a novolak resin and as an adhesion promoter in rubber compounds with a variety of substrates.

HMMM resin contains mainly methoxymethyl functional sites making it a highly effective crosslinker for backbone polymer resins containing hydroxyl, carboxyl, or amide functional groups, such as those found on alkyd, polyester, or acrylic resins. Its high monomer content, and low tendency to self-condense result in films with high flexibility and formability when paired with inherently flexible polymers, such as polyester resins

BENEFITS

 Solvent free

 Excellent balance of hardness and flexibility

 Fast catalyzed cure response

 Excellent stability

 Low free formaldehyde

APPLICATION AREAS

 Coil coatings

 Can and container coatings

 Automotive finishes

 High solids and waterborne coatings

 General industrial finishes

 Inks

COMPATIBILITY: Acrylic resins,  Alkyd resins , Polyester resins, Epoxy resins.

 MF Resin:

MF Melamine is iso-butylated melamine formaldehyde resin. In combination with short oil alkyd resin or thermosetting acrylic, it is mainly used for baking enamels. It is designed to give high hardness and high gloss.

PERFORMANCE

· High gloss. · Water & weathering resistance. · Good hardness. · Good stability.

UF Resin:

Urea formaldehyde resin is an opaque cross linked thermosetting polymer produced by condensation of urea and formaldehyde in an aqueous solution in the presence of ammonia as an alkaline catalyst.

Butylated urea formaldehyde resin is mainly used as a cross-linker with short oil alkyd resins for low temperature baking enamels giving adequate gloss, hardness, flexibility, adhesion and impact resistance. It is also used in two pack and one pack acid cured screen and wood lacquers. High electrical resistivity makes the resin especially suitable for electrostatically applied finishes.

COMPATIBILITY: UF is compatible with all short oil alkyds, oil free polyesters, medium and high molecular weight epoxy resins, epoxy esters, thermo-setting acrylics, P.V.B. resins, nitro-cellulose and ester type of plasticizers.
